McDonald's to Host Citywide Lemonade Day July 30

Host a Lemonade Stand for Ronald McDonald House

July 16, 2015
Area McDonald’s restaurants put a fun local twist on the launch of its Real & Fresh Lemonade announcing Citywide Lemonade Day.

McDonald’s is inviting all area families to set up their own lemonade stands on Thursday, July 30. Kids can sell lemonade in their driveway, neighborhood pool or get together with friends and have a neighborhood sale at the end of the street. Participants are encouraged to donate the proceeds to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City.

“We wanted to make this a community-wide program and a fun way to engage local families around the idea of philanthropy,” said Jim Wagy, McDonald’s Kansas City co-op president. “Summer is a time to enjoy the outdoors, sip some lemonade and get to know your neighbors. We hope local families will enjoy teaching their kids about giving back and charity through this Citywide Lemonade Day.”

Here’s how it works:

Families can register their lemonade stand and in exchange will receive two free Happy Meals certificates in the mail. Registration is due by July 25, 2015. (Happy Meals are valid at any Greater Kansas City area McDonald’s including St. Joseph, Mo. and Lawrence, Kan.)

To register, please visit: www.kcmcdonalds.com/events/kc-lemonade-day

Families will also receive an official Ronald McDonald House Charities sticker ensuring Lemonade Stand customers will be confident that the money will be donated to the local charity.

And, lastly, local families who participate will be entered to win free Happy Meals for a year at participating local Kansas City McDonald’s restaurants.
