AesthetiCare MedSpa Hydra Facial Review & GIVEAWAY

By Gail Keller - Macaroni Kid JoCo July 16, 2015

I was kindly invited to AesthetiCare MedSpa in Leawood for a complimentary HydraFacial.

The clinic is conveniently located just south east of College & Nall at 11100 Ash Street in Leawood.  AesthetiCare was one of the first full-service Med-Spas in the Kansas City area.  AesthetiCare opened in 2001 to offer non-surgical skin solutions to help prevent, correct and slow down the signs of skin damage and aging. After filling out paper work, all new clients get a thorough skin consultation, at no charge, with a skin care professional. My skin care professional was Sammy, who I absolutely adored.

Sammy first provided my personal consultation.  She gave me a quick
overview of the clinic, the staff, and the treatments that are offered and an anatomy lesson on skin. Sammy asked me about my concerns before providing my individualized Visia skin analysis. The system helps see “under” your skin. I was amazed, perhaps horrified, to see the behind the scene photos of my skin and what years of sun damage, lack of good skincare products/sunscreen, and turning 50 did to my skin. Sammy showed me some before and after photos from clients who have received various skin care services at AesthetiCare and then recommended several services for me.

My HydraFacial MD Service

HydraFacial is a non-invasive skin resurfacing and rejuvenating treatment that removes dead skin cells and impurities while simultaneously infusing the skin with cleansing, hydrating and moisturizing solutions. The HydraFacial utilizes a spiral shaped vacuum-based skin HydroPeel abrasion tip designed to exfoliate dead skin cells and clean out pores. The vortex suction tool works like microdermabrasion to exfoliate the skin and remove impurities, but without using crystals or abrasive chemicals.

The specially designed tool also hydrates the newly revealed skin by ‘forcing’ in hydrating solutions and antioxidants. Serums are absorbed instantly into the skin and sink down to a cellular level. Moisturizers are used afterwards to form a layer of protection on the skin’s surface and to lock and seal in the serums. A HydraFacial can treat a number of skin concerns such as fine lines, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, enlarged pores and puffy eyes.

After prepping my skin, Sammy applied the vortex suction tool to clean out my pores. It painlessly felt like a gentle vacuum cleaner gliding over my face and was very relaxing. Next she infused my skin with hydrating, antioxidant moisturizing solutions.  There was a very slight burning sensation around my nose but overall the entire process was painless and enjoyable.

The result?  My skin immediately felt fantastic and more plump. My face was glowing, the blotchy redness was gone, the pores on my nose were smaller, and my skin texture and tone looked a lot more even. When I got home, my 10 year old daughter said "Wow mom, you look great! Your face looks moist and young."  I had an event a few hours later and my make up went on more smoothly and looked more radiant!

I would recommend getting a HydraFacial the day before a big event or every month. I need to go book my next one!
