Touch-A- Truck at Overland Park Convention Center

August 18, 2016
Kids of all ages can sit, stand and get behind the wheels of over 40 giant trucks and large vehicles at the 2016 Touch-A- Truck event at the Overland Park Convention Center, Sunday, Aug. 21, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entry is free with a minimum donation of a new, unwrapped toy or monetary offering for Toys for Tots.

Along with fire trucks, military vehicles, combines and unusual trucks, bouncy houses and a variety of family-friendly activities can be found at the sixth annual event, including a craft area for kids.

“Touch-A- Truck not only educates, but provides attendees the opportunity to make an impact on the community through donations to Toys for Tots, a U.S. Marine Corps Reserve program,” Brett C. Mitchell, general manager of the OPCC, said. “My father retired a brigadier general in the Marine Corps, so Toys for Tots had a huge impact on my childhood.  In fact, I've never known a Christmas without a Toys for Tots drive and helping children that were less fortunate.”

A traditional flag raising and salute by local Marines will take place before doors open.  Make sure to stop by the Macaroni Kid booth to get your free photos in the Insta Fun KC Photobooth camper, help color the Macaroni Kid ice cream truck and enter to win a huge prize pack.

Last year, the event drew over 9,500 attendees. Parking will be free for the event. To learn more about Touch-A- Truck and the OPCC, please visit opconventioncenter.com/touch-a-truck.
