Summer Camp with Leawood Parks and Rec

Summer is quickly approaching, where will your kids be spending their time this summer?

Leawood Parks & Recreation offers camps for all ages and interests!  All camps meet Monday-Friday at various locations throughout the city.  For more detailed information regarding any of the camps listed, please visit our website

Half-Day Camps:
Half-Day Camps run for two weeks and meet Monday-Friday, 8:30am-12:00pm in Leawood City Park.   Camp includes swim lessons taught by the Leawood Aquatic Center Staff.   Three great sessions to choose from!   June 2-13, June 16-27 and July 7-18.  The fee for half-day camp is $165, Leawood residents pay a discounted fee of $135.

Full-Day Camps:
Full-Day Camps are for campers age 9-12 years.  Camps run for one week and meet Monday-Friday, 9:00am-4:00pm.  Base camp for full-day camps is the Maple Room in the Leawood Community Center (lower level of Leawood City Hall).

Outdoor Camp - This camp is for kids seeking a unique full-day adventure in an outdoor setting.
Fee: $165 per week / Resident Discounted Fee: $150 per week

Camp KC - Camp KC is a destination based camp with a field trip each day.  Past field trips have included, Worlds of Fun, Sky Zone, Leawood Aquatic Center, Super Splash, Oceans of Fun, Ironwoods Park and Schlitterbahn
Fee: $240 per week / Resident Discounted Fee: $250 per week

Specialty Camps

Nature Camps meet Monday-Friday and are one week in duration.  Camp meets at the Prairie Oak Nature Center in Ironwoods Park.

Half-Day Camp is for campers age 6-8 years and meets 12:30-4:30pm.
Half Day Camp Fee:  $150 / Leawood Resident Discounted Fee:  $130

Full Day Camp meets 9:00am-4:00pm, sessions for campers 6-8 years and 7-10 years.
Full Day Camp Fee:  $210 / Leawood Resident Discounted Fee:  $180

Challenge Adventure Camps are one week in duration and are for campers 7-14 years.  These camps offer a balance of climbing activities at the Ironwoods Challenge course as well as teambuilding, survival skill and fun games! The 7 & 8 year old camp, focuses less on climbing and more on fun outdoor activities.
Fee: $150 / Leawood Resident Discounted Fee: $130

Will’s Players meets Monday – Friday at the Lodge at Ironwoods and is one week in duration.  Will’s Players is for campers ages 5-8 and is a summer arts camp. Campers will explore the life and times of William Shakespeare through crafts, games and improvisations.  Camp meets 8:30-11:30am.
Fee: $125
 
Challenger Soccer Camp meets Monday-Friday and is one week in duration. Various sessions are held for campers ages 3-16 years old.  All soccer camps will be held at Leawood City Park.  Each day includes individual foot skills, technical drills, tactical practices, small-sided games, coached scrimmages, and a daily tournament.

Tennis Camp meets Monday-Friday and is one week in duration.  Tennis camp is for campers ages 8-12 years who want to improve their tennis game.  Camp meets at the tennis courts in Leawood City Park.  The camp ends each day with a “free swim” at the Leawood Aquatic Center.
