Calling all Future Paleontolgists! Join the Museum at Prairiefire for a crash-course on how paleontologists find the fossils of some of the world's largest dinosaurs! After you've learned the basics, join us for a camp-out led by real paleontologists where you can take home your own fossils! 

Participate in our second annual paleontological field school, reserved for middle-school students. Come to the Museum for four, half-day classes covering different aspects of paleontology.  Campers have the option to choose between three different four-day sessions in June. 

June 5-8 Monday - Thursday 9 am - Noon
June 12-15 Monday - Thursday 1 pm - 4 pm at Johnson County Community College
June 19-22 Monday-Thursday 9 am - Noon

Cost is $129 per participant.

Field Camp Out:

Those students who complete Paleontology Rocks! will be eligible to participate in our "Field Camp Out", taking place Saturday, June 24th through Sunday, June 25th. Using knowledge gained in Paleontology Rocks! campers will participate in two fossil collecting sessions as well as an overnight camp out led by Museum scientists. Campers and their chaperones will stay overnight at Lake Wilson, near Russell, Kansas. 1 adult is required to register per participating family. Cost is $200 per camper.
