Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm Camps

Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm offers a variety of camps throughout the summer with different themes. All camps feature lots of hands-on activities. Camps are recommended for ages 7-12. Registration for each camp is due the Friday before camp begins. Each camp is limited to 15 participants. 

Rootin' Tootin' Cowboy CampRoping

We'll spend the whole day exploring the adventures and non-adventures of a cowboy in the 1860s! Learn about caring for a horse, cook on a chuckwagon and learn to brand leather. Try your hand at roping a 'steer' and try on real cowboy clothes! Registration required.

Sod Busting and Chicken Feeding: Farming 1860s Style!

Many hands make light work! Join us for a week of 1860s farming fun as we care for animals, do laundry, work in the garden and cook up a hearty snack of farm foods. Other activities may include making shingles in the woodshop, grooming the animals, washing wool from our sheep and playing 19th century games. Registration required.

Eating Goober Peas: Civil War Boot CampRecruitment

Sign up for a week in President Lincoln's Army! Recruits will learn to march and maneuver, fire a cannon, cook a soldier's fare and make their very own haversack. Play games, enjoy music, and participate in other soldier leisure time activities. Registration required.   

Monday, July 10-Friday, July 14 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.      Cost: $70

Can We Build It? 1860s Style!  

Before nail guns and cranes, how did things get built? Try your hand at sawing, nailing and painting. Use pulleys to lift a rock and learn to cut stone. Each participant will create something to take home. Registration required.
