If you answered yes to any of the above, Macaroni Kid JoCo wants you! We are looking to expand our editorial selection and to build a team of contributing writers... and we want you to be a part of it!
Guest writers may submit an article on any topic of their choosing, geared toward an audience of families with children. Local content must refer to places within Johnson, or within a day trip of Overland Park, KS. Ideal article length is between 3-5 paragraphs; lists are great too!
Aside from potentially having their writing published on our website and e-newsletter, from time to time, our regular contributors may be asked to participate in specific writing assignments which may include product, venue, restaurant or event reviews and be provided complimentary tickets, items or admission for the purpose of such a review. We may also offer compensation if specific content is needed.
Submission does not guarantee publishing and timing will depend on our editorial calendar. Any articles submitted by or about a business will be considered on a case-by-case basis. All content is subject to final editing by Macaroni Kid JoCo.
To submit your article, email the content along with title and byline, to katlynfuller@macaronikid.com. A photo or graphic to go with the article is greatly appreciated and greatly increase the chances of the article being published; any images submitted must be legally owned and be able to be shared without risk of copyright infringement. Ideal size is 500 x 350 px.
Macaroni Kid JoCo reserves the right to choose as many or few articles to fill our content needs. We cannot guarantee perks. We reserve the right to modify the terms of or cancel, the guest writer program for any reason at any time. Articles published become the property of Macaroni Kid JoCo and may not be republished in any competing publication. By submitting your photos, you are giving permission for Macaroni Kid JoCo to post them on Facebook and to use the images on our website and other social media channels for the purpose of this promotion or any future Macaroni Kid marketing and you release Macaroni Kid from any reasonable expectation of privacy or confidentiality, credits or royalty payments associated with the images.
