Easter Drive Up Eggstravaganza with KC Wine Co (April 4th, 5th & 11th) - Our entire team here at KC Wine Co is excited to invite you to our 2020 Drive Up Eggstravaganza. We know times are tough and we’ve reconfigured our annual egg hunt and pet weekend here at the farm. Instead of those, we want to invite you to drive out to the farm to explore the beautiful countryside - from the comfort and safety of your vehicle. We’ll have family friendly carried ‘eggstras’ and order-ahead pick up options for you during your visit. We ask that you stay inside your vehicle at all times.
We've been making Easter Eggs like MAD to "hide" on the farm! We'll also have wine, hard cider, Vine Coolers, and slushes to take home should you choose! They may be pre-ordered at www.kcwinecowines.com.
April 4th, 5th and 11th, 12-6pm
**For the safety and well being of our team-members and the public, no restrooms will be available on site. We’re looking forward to having you out to the farm for a break in the day!
The KC Wine Co family is proud to support two non-profit partners during our Drive Up Eggstravaganza. A portion of all proceeds will go to support Wayside Waifs and No Kid Hungry. Online Easter Services- almost all churches are hosting online Easter services. Search your town for churches then find them online. So many options!
Fun Ideas to Do on Your Own- We found a few ideas beyond the traditional hiding plastic eggs (filled with toys, candy, money, and gift certificates), dyeing eggs and easter baskets
"Plant" jelly beans in your yard the night before Easter. Then after they go to sleep go out and put suckers or filled plastic eggs in the jelly beans places, as if they grew into suckers/big eggs.
Egg Hunt Walk- Decorate paper eggs to hang in your window (visible from the street). Then take your kids out on a walk in the neighborhood to hunt for eggs in other windows. This is being promoted nationwide so others do know about it. You can also contact neighbors and friends to encourage them to participate. This group is dedicated to the concept https://www.facebook.com/groups/2975131139212932/
Paint and Chalk your House- Chalk can be used to decorate your sidewalk and even the bricks on our house to make if festive for Easter. This adds even more fun to see for those doing their Egg Hunt Walk (mentioned above). You can also use tempera or finger-paint on glass (with drops of dish soap to make clean up easier) to decorate your glass doors and/or windows. Try putting a bunny or cross on your glass door or windows. Use painters tape to tape off sections to get more of a stained glass window look. So many fun ideas circulating online- https://www.facebook.com/groups/2975131139212932/
Snow Eggs- What if we get snow on Easter? Make a big snow ball and then use spray bottles with colored water to decorate your snow egg!
Unique Gifts to Keep Them Busy- Need some new ideas for gifts that will keep them busy during the time? Here are a few: Squirt guns, themed origami sets (ie Star Wars, Harry Potter), create your own puzzle kits, perler beads, gardening supplies, chalk, legos, paper airplane books, aqua beads, Shrinky Dinks, glow in the dark plastic eggs, supplies for making slime, items for a Ninja Warrior Course...
Salt Dough Easter Baskets & Eggs- Use a basic salt dough recipe to make Easter baskets and Easter ornaments or garland. Bake at 250 degrees for 2 hrs. You can google salt dough Easter eggs or basket or click here for one we like: https://www.designmom.com/diy-salt-dough-eggs/
Egg Wars- Ready to eat those decorated real eggs? Have an egg war (make sure their boiled eggs)! Face off with a partner and challenge their egg "nose to nose". Hit the tips together on the count of 3, the egg that doesn't crack wins! Each egg has two ends so the fun continues. After they crack you can peel and eat.
Fun with Food- Your eating all 3 meals at home now (or mostly) so have fun with it! Color your eggs or pancakes a fun color for breakfast. Have egg salad for lunch. Make "egg nest" with spaghetti then serve meatballs as your eggs. Make cupcakes or sugar cookies for the family to decorate for Easter.
Do you have ideas to add? Comment below, we'd love to include them! Have a favorite local business doing something special for Easter, let us know! We'd love to help our local businesses during this difficult time by listing them here.
