Hey all! My name is Ashley, and Melissa has so kindly offered to let me introduce myself a bit. You might have seen some ‘Peanut Playgroup’ events’ in the calendar. I’m the one planning those! I know sometimes it’s hard to go to events where you don’t know anyone, so I thought I’d share a little information about myself to hopefully make you feel more comfortable attending.
After my daughter was born I had ZERO friends. And I began to think that if I wanted to make friends I had to really, really put myself out there. I’m not a social person, I don’t find small talk natural or comfortable generally. But I got better with practice, and I met people I adored. I’ve started refocusing on planning events again. We’ve managed to build an incredible group of moms from all walks of life, with diverse experiences and ideas. We plan playdates and mom nights mostly. Some events we have planned are S'mores night, cookie decorating playdates, visiting new parks and indoor gyms, or finding local businesses to support when we can. I hope you can come to a playdate or moms' night soon, we would love to have you.
