Hello Macaroni KID families! We recently had the most thrilling and unforgettable local family getaway here in Kansas City, and since so many of you are seeking ideas for a staycation, I thought I'd share our adventure with you! Last weekend when school was out we booked a night at Great Wolf Lodge. With a water park that kept us entertained all day, an enchanted MagiQuest adventure, delightful dining options, and sweet treats galore, our stay was nothing short of magical.
Waterpark Blast
Our journey began at the heart of the lodge, the indoor water park. Our family couldn't get enough of the thrilling water rides and attractions. The Triple Twist, Totem Towers, and Crooked Creek quickly became our favorites. The Triple Twist's twisting tube slide and Totem Towers' speedy drop slides provided endless excitement for all of us! The gentle currents of Crooked Creek were perfect for some family relaxation (and a couple of races, too!).

Enchanting MagiQuest
A highlight of our stay was embarking on the MagiQuest adventure, a live-action, interactive game throughout the lodge. Armed with magic wands, we explored the lodge's enchanting realms, solved mysteries, and unlocked secrets. It was a captivating experience that had us feeling like wizards on a quest. It was a great activity to entertain our daughter before the dance party!
Howl and Hustle Dance Party
The adventure doesn't end when the sun goes down! Great Wolf Lodge knows how to keep it going with the Howl and Hustle Dance Party. It's a fantastic way to end your day on a high note, and our family had a blast grooving to the beat and creating unforgettable memories on the dance floor.

Northern Lights Arcade
To kick off day two, we popped in to the Northern Lights Arcade for some friendly competition and a whole lot of fun! With tons of games, from classics to new favorites, there was something for everyone in the family. We collected tickets and exchanged them for awesome prizes – a great way to kick off the day!

Build-A-Bear Workshop
Our daughter had a blast customizing a furry friend at the Build-A-Bear Workshop. This is her asking her new pal "Violet" what her favorite color is. With a great selection of outfits and accessories to choose from, kids can create personalized keepsakes to cherish.
Great Wolf Candy Co.
A visit to the Great Wolf Candy Company was the final stop on our Great Wolf Lodge journey, and it was a sweet way to end our mini vacation. The assortment of goodies was perfect for satisfying our sweet tooth cravings and made for a great souvenir cup of treats to take home.

Delicious Dining
Great Wolf Lodge Kansas City also impressed us with its dining options. For a quick snack, we enjoyed Icees and fries from Buckets, which was perfect for re-energizing during our water park adventures.
Hungry as a Wolf was perfect for dinner, offering a fantastic selection of pizzas, pasta, and salads. We enjoyed both pizza and mac and cheese, which totally hit the spot after a long day at the water park.
Camp Critter provided us with a delightful buffet breakfast, where we filled up on all our morning favorites. It was a great way to start our day, and our daughter was especially delighted with the variety of options.
