Camp Quality (CQ) is a local chapter of a nationwide nonprofit dedicated to serving children with cancer and their families, by providing year-round programs, experiences, and companionship, at no cost. Camp Quality promotes hope and inspiration while helping children foster life skills and develop their full potential. Camp Quality's signature program is a week-long residential summer camp experience for children affected by cancer ages 5-17 years old. Activities may include crafts, swimming, fishing, boating, archery, talent show, dance, outdoor movie, team/group events, and more themed fun! Campers are paired with Companion volunteers with low ratios, often 1:1. Volunteers complete an interview, reference checks, background check, and training to serve with Camp Quality. Camp Quality offers intentional programming, including a focus on psychosocial support. A medical team is also on site 24/7 to provide high quality care according to current evidence based pediatric oncology camping standards. Camp Quality is Gold Ribbon accredited through the Children's Oncology Camping Association (COCA). Camp Quality hosts additional programming such as weekend events including Spring and Fall Family Camp, Teen Camp, and Sibling Camp as well as day or evening events including a Holiday Party and Parent's Night Out. You can also find the CQ crew online for a virtual hangout each month. Camp Quality is primarily volunteer driven and community funded.
