Join us to celebrate the release of The Bird and the Blade, a new book for teens by local author Megan Bannen. Narrated by Jinghua, a former slave, it’s the story of a prince who will risk anything to save his kingdom, a princess whose impossible riddles have claimed the lives of all her would-be suitors, and the girl who brings them together with terrible consequences. Set in the Mongol Empire, The Bird and the Blade is inspired by the fairy tale that gave rise to the opera Turandot.
