Every Tue in JuneDescription
The Leawood Arts Council, in conjunction with the Parks and Recreation Department, will provide “Grinnin’ & Groovin’” entertainment for the entire family each Tuesday, June 5 through June 26th. The event series will kick-off with a concert by Funky Mama on Tuesday, June 5th.
Funky Mama is a family favorite performer around the Midwest. Her dynamic energy and bold funk/soul singing style will have the kids on their feet dancing. Funky Mama has a big voice with easy to understand lyrics. She is one of only a handful of entertainers nationwide to be selected to perform at the White House Easter Egg Roll in Washington, D.C.
Don’t miss this free show at Ironwoods Park on June 5th.
The event series will continue with fun and educational shows each Tuesday. The lineup includes:
Jim "Mr. Stinky Feet" Cosgrove has been rockin' Kansas City for nearly two decades with his high energy, interactive concerts. See his show June 12th.
StoneLion Puppets have been a Grinnin’ & Groovin’ favorite for many summers in Leawood. Children will watch with anticipation to see what the puppets are up to in the featured story on June 19th.
The series wraps up on June 26th with juggler Brian Wendling.
Each program will begin at 9:30 a.m. sharp and will last a maximum of one hour. Bring your entire family for fun-filled entertainment that will thrill children of all ages.
