The Overland Park Star Spangled Spectacular will take place this year on July 4th. There will be some changes to the event, see below
This year, due to the coronavirus, the Star Spangled Spectacular will be limited to a free evening fireworks show only at Corporate Woods Founders Park.
There will be no food or drink sales, live music or entertainment.
Corporate Woods Founders’ Park will be open during the fireworks show for those who would like to view the fireworks from the lawn.
Several short reports at approximately 9:45 p.m. will mark the beginning of the fireworks show.
In case of rain, the fireworks show rain date will be July 5.
When: Saturday, July 4, 2020, Fireworks begin at 9:45 p.m.
Public parking is available in the Corporate Woods Building 40 parking lot.
Please remember your parking location and be patient after the fireworks show as many people will be leaving at once and some lanes of traffic will be closed for pedestrians.
Indian Creek Parkway will be closed between 109th and Mastin beginning at 7 p.m.
Do not park along City streets or local highways to view the fireworks.
Follow CDC guidelines for protecting yourself and others from the spread of coronavirus. Do not come to the event if you are sick, practice distancing, and bring hand sanitizer to minimize the spread of germs.
Pop-up tents can obscure the view of the fireworks and are not allowed.
No glass is allowed in the park. Coolers are allowed; please bring plenty of water for you and your group.
Leashed dogs are welcome in City parks. Please remember that fireworks can cause anxiety for pets and consider this before bringing yours.
