Celebrate the start of the holiday season with us!

Hometown Holidays is Spring Hill's annual Christmas festival, held the first Friday in December. For many years, this fun, FREE event has treated families to pictures with Santa, holiday-themed crafts, treats, activities, and entertainment hosted by local organizations. 

Hometown Holidays 2020 is set for 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4 at Spring Hill Veterans Park, 20201 Veterans Lane, Spring Hill, KS 66083. 

We will also be accepting canned food donations Nov. 2 through Dec. 11 at the utilities counter at City Hall. 

Schedule of events

6 p.m. -Virtual lighting of the Mayor’s Christmas Tree:  To kick off the evening, Mayor Steven Ellis will host the annual tree lighting virtually in the courtyard of the Civic Center. View it live on Facebook at 6 p.m.

  • Drive Through Photo with Santa, Spring Hill Rotary Club
    After the Mayor's Christmas Tree lighting, the Spring Hill Rotary Club will be hosting a drive through visit with Santa at Veterans Park, 20201 Veterans Lane, Spring Hill, KS 66083. Stop by to see Santa and grab a quick family photo! This activity does have a suggested donation of $5. All funds will be donated to Veterans Park. SANTA LINE BEGINS AT SYCAMORE RIDGE GOLF COURSE, 21731 Clubhouse Drive, Spring Hill. At Sycamore Ridge, you will be handed a ticket and directed by traffic control volunteers to Veterans Park for the drive-through photo with Santa.
  • Gifts, City of Spring Hill
    City staff will be handing out pre-packaged gifts, full of treats and prizes, in Veterans Park right after your photo with Santa.
  • Letters to Santa, Spring Hill Recreation Commission
    You will be able to drop off your child’s wishes and lists to Santa at this special mailbox, which leads straight to the North Pole!
  • City Lights Tour
    After your drive through visit with Santa, head out on our City Lights Tour. We will have holiday lights displays at various City parks and facilities for you to drive around and view! We’ve also partnered with the Spring Hill Recreation Commission for our Lights Tour. They have generously decorated our Historic Downtown district as well as the Spring Hill Sports Complex, which will have another hot chocolate stop! Locations include:
    • Spring Hill Civic Center, 401 N. Madison St.
    • City Park, Washington and Hale streets
    • Community Center, 613 S. Race Street
    • Downtown District, Main Street
    • Public Works, 502 E. Nichols St.
    • Spring Hill Police Department, 418 E. Nichols St.
    • Spring Hill Sports Complex, 900 N. Washington St

Parking

Please line up for the drive through visit with Santa on Veterans Lane, just south of 199th Street. DO NOT overflow onto 199th Street. Overflow parking will be at Sycamore Ridge Golf Course, 21731 Clubhouse Drive, Spring Hill. Event staff will be present to direct traffic. 

Road Closures

No road closures are associated with this event; however, there may be heavy traffic along 199th Street and near the City Lights Tour locations listed above.
