Fireworks follow the lighting ceremonyDescription
The 100-foot-tall Mayor's Christmas Tree, one of the nation's tallest, is the centerpiece for an illuminating holiday celebration presented by Crown Center. Discover Cocoa and Campfires, an area to enjoy hot beverages and s’mores by the fire pits. Join KC Mayor Quinton Lucas and guests for the countdown to light the tree. Fireworks to follow. The tree is a symbol of the Mayor's Christmas Tree Fund, which helps fellow Kansas Citians in need celebrate the holiday season. After the holidays, the wood from the Mayor's Christmas Tree is made into commemorative ornaments, which are sold the following year to benefit the Mayor's Christmas Tree Fund. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. on Crown Center Square. FREE admission. Enjoy the holiday light display each evening through Jan. 2.
